WHAT IS THE ST ANDREWS GOLF WEEK?
The St Andrews Golf Week is a twice annual event for amateur golfers and is held in St Andrews “The Home of Golf”. The St Andrews Golf Week was established in 1974 and continues to attract golfers from all over the world. In 2019, there were golfers from over twenty different countries including USA, Japan, Norway, South Africa, Spain, Canada, Argentina, Netherlands, Brazil, Scotland, Germany, Australia, Ireland, Singapore, France and England.
WHO CAN ATTEND THE ST ANDREWS GOLF WEEK?
The St Andrews Golf Week is open to any amateur golfer. Golf on the Old Course, St Andrews is restricted to golfers with handicaps of 36 or less for both men and ladies. Golfers with handicaps outside these limits will be offered alternative golf on this day.
CAN NON-GOLFERS ATTEND THE ST ANDREWS GOLF WEEK?
Non-golfers are most welcome to join the Golf Week. There are non-golfing activities during the week which are detailed in the daily schedule. Non-golfers are also welcome to attend all prize giving dinners and evening events. Non-golfers receive a reduction of £900.00.
HOW MANY ATTEND THE ST ANDREWS GOLF WEEK?
The St Andrews Golf Week is restricted to 80 golfers for the April Event and 36 golfers for the October Event. There are no restrictions on the number of non-golfers.
WHAT IS THE COMPETITION FORMAT?
There are daily competitions some of which are individual and some of which are teams. There are prizes for both men and ladies when it is an individual competition. Please click here for full details regarding the daily competition format.
IS TRANSPORT INCLUDED IN THE COST?
Airfares are not included. Transport from all hotels to all golf courses and the St Andrews Links Golf Academy is included. St Andrews is a relatively small town and everything is within walking distance from the hotels (shops, restaurants, bars, local attractions). HOW MUCH TUITION FROM THE PGA PROFESSIONALS WILL I RECEIVE?
Our Scottish PGA Professionals for the April Golf Week are Jim Farmer and Jamie Carver while Jamie is the sole Pro in the October event. The professionals are available for tuition throughout the week in the mornings and afternoons from the Monday to the Friday. Participants are free to attend as much or as little as they like and at their own convenience. (Please note Monday and Friday tuition is morning only due the tee times). ARE CADDIES AND PULL CARTS AVAILABLE AT THE GOLF COURSES?
Both caddies and pull carts are available at all the courses. Below are details regarding the costs involved.
Kingsbarns Golf Links: Caddie Fee: £55.00 plus gratuity, Pull Carts: Complimetary
The Castle Course, St Andrews: Caddie Fee: £55.00 plus gratuity, Pull Carts: £5.00
The Jubilee Course, St Andrews: Caddie Fee: £55.00 plus gratuity, Pull Carts: £5.00
The New Course, St Andrews: Caddie Fee: £55.00 plus gratuity, Pull Carts: £5.00
The Old Course, St Andrews: Caddie Fee: £55.00 plus gratuity, Pull Carts: £5.00
(Pull carts are only available on the Old Course after 12 noon unless there are no caddies available. If there are no caddies available, pull carts may be used prior to 12 noon)
