The
Castle Course is the newest addition the St Andrews' portfolio of courses and
was officially opened by the Duke of York in July 2008. The par 71 course is perched
on a 220 acre clifftop site on the outskirts of the historic town of St Andrews
boasting some fantastic views of the North Sea, the ancient town and over the
bay towards Carnoustie. The course was designed to be an enjoyable but testing
experience and promises to be an excellent addition to the St Andrews Links courses.
With its' excellent clubhouse, practice facilities and spectacular scenery, The
Castle Course is certain to become a must play in the itineraries of the avid
golfer visiting the "Home of Golf". The course has five tees on every
hole which vary the length from 5460 to 6759 yards. The championship length is
7188 yards.
